Our Lay Leader
My name is Marie Cunningham and I am the Lay Leader at Bethel in Frog Level. I am honored to share God-inspired, Biblically-based messages each week. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Master’s Degree in Education, and I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Christian Education Leadership from Regent University. I am a second-grade teacher at The Carmel School and I hold a teaching license in the state of Virginia. Please join us as we follow God’s call to go and make disciples.
Our Ministries
At this time our main mission revolves around our Food Ministry. Weekly we collect canned goods to donate to Moments of Hope, a local non-profit that provides for the homeless. Our church building is also a host location for a community food program organized by 10-7 Farms. This program provides food for local families in need.

Who are we
A brief history of Bethel Church in Frog Level
Bethel is an antebellum Methodist Church founded by two friends, Robert Sale Peatross and Thomas Price Jackson. The Bethel congregation first broke the Bread of Communion while meeting in the old colonial church at Mangohick, King William County, in 1853 or 1854. In the fall of 1854, our present sanctuary had been completed, on land purchased from Armistead Folley, in the southeast corner of Caroline County along Route 30. The congregation mostly consisted of farmers and storekeepers.
Times had changed by the 1960’s and many of the members worked outside of the area. It was time to build an education building with classrooms, kitchen and indoor plumbing. By the 2000’s more space was needed and a large open hall was built with a well equipped warming kitchen, bathrooms, and an upstairs room for young members.
With Jesus Christ at our center, Bethel today remains a warm, friendly congregation of under 50 members, with a real feeling of family and community.

What time is Sunday Worship?
Our Sunday worship begins at 9am each Sunday morning. Following the service everyone can stay and enjoy a delicious brunch.
Can visitors stay for Brunch and fellowship?
Yes, we wecome all to stay and fellowship with us and enjoy a delicious brunch prepared by our members. Families rotate responsibilities monthly with both hot and cold dishes as well as fruit, sweets, coffee, juice and tea.
